Loitering in McClellanville
This piece is my personal favorite. The idea for this watercolor plagued my mind for some time. My vision eventually brought me to the most wonderful McClellanville, South Carolina, in a search of blue crabs. Not only did I find an abundance of my subject matter, I found some of the nicest people and what I believe to be one of the greatest places in South Carolina. I can only hope it will always remain the same.
“Loitering in McClellanville” was first juried at the 2004 South Carolina State Fair. Next, it was back home to Camden, South Carolina, and the Camden Art Associations Annual Show where it was juried by Ray Davenport. My work received “Best of Show.” I was quite happy and excited about this judgment as I have always admired Davenport’s work.
I never thought about making prints of my work until several people inquired about “The Blue Crabs.” It took me some time to find the best printing company to produce the work. My time was well spent as I was rewarded with a wonderful job done by some very fine people at Crowson Stone of Columbia, South Carolina.
The print resides on a high quality heavy acid-free stock. The work has a live area of nearly 24 inches square with a total area of 30 inches square. All prints are signed and numbered with a limited amount of artist proofs available. Please call if you have any questions or comments.
